Lazio-Cagliari, Inzaghi: “A terrific performance, we deserved more goals”

Lazio defeated Cagliari 3-1 in Matchday 17 of the Serie A TIM, approaching the last matches of the first half of the season against Bologna and Torino in the best possible way. A drought of seven matches without three points, this victory was much needed for Simone Inzaghi and his side; a dominant Lazio, they rose to fourth place after Milan lost 1-0 to Fiorentina. Below, we see what the Italian manager had to say on the match.

“The guys were very good today, they played the match in the best way, approaching it properly. In the first half, we deserved a few more goals, but we enjoyed a victory that was missing for too many matches. Starting tonight, we will be thinking about the match against Bologna”.

“The conditions of Luis Alberto and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic? The Spaniard had mainly cramping, nothing too special for him and not even for the Serbian who in the first half had slipped and opened his adductor a little.”

A Lazio without a regista: “Beyond the formation, there is interpretation. When Cagliari had the ball we had Parolo and Milinkovic-Savic in front of the defense with Luis Alberto as a midfielder. When we had the ball, Milinkovic advanced alongside the Spaniard. The guys were good at putting the right spirit on the pitch; the victory came as the team entered the pitch in the first minutes, putting Cagliari under pressure right away.”
