Report: Genoa eye loan move for Murgia

Alessandro Murgia

Alessandro Murgia has barely had any playing time this season and it seems likely that he will be loaned out for the remainder of the season. The 22-year-old endeared himself to many Lazio fans when he scored the winning goal in the club’s Supercoppa Italiana victory over Juventus at the start of last season. However, the Lazio youth product has only made four appearances so far this season, three in the Europa League and one in the league.

According to Il Messaggero, it is becoming increasingly likely that he will move to Genoa on a six month loan. The Grifone are no stranger to negotiating with the Biancocelesti as they took fellow youth product Danilo Cataldi on loan to close out the 2017 season.

With Lucas Leiva returning from injury, Lazio’s midfield seems filled to the brim and the Italian could benefit from an increase in Serie A playing time that he would most likely receive with a move to Genoa.
