Report: Wolverhampton Wanderers pursue Lazio’s Wallace

According to what has been reported by the La Repubblica today, Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers have shown an interest in signing Lazio’s Brazilian defender Wallace. Wallace, who won plaudits for his performance against Juventus right at the start of the season, has since failed to impress and caused much backlash amongst Lazio fans; who constantly are calling for the defender to be moved on at the first opportunity.

Wolves were said to be have been interested in Wallace’s Angolan defensive partner Bastos in the summer, yet a move never materialised and he remained in Rome. However, as Wallace’s agent is Jorge Mendes, who has been working closely with Wolves under their new ownership, it looks as though he could complete a move to England.

According to WhoScored.com, Wallace has averaged 1.1 tackles, 2.3 interceptions and 2.8 clearances per game; whilst also unfortunately scoring an own goal and averaging 0.2 dispossessions and 0.6 poor touches per game.
