Venezia FC, who currently sits in 13th in the Serie B with 21 points, have officially acquired Lazio’s Cristiano Lombardi on loan. The Italian – who was not included in either the Europa League or Serie A TIM squads – is not part of Simone Inzaghi’s plans and because of this, when the winter transfer market arrived, many expected Lombardi to be on his way.
Being sent away from Rome is not unusual for the 23-year old: he has been sent away before Trapani, US Anconitana, and Benevento were his destinations. Last season, he made 17 appearances for the Stregoni in the Serie A, all on the right flank. With Walter Zenga – who became the manager of the side in October – wanting a signing to improve the side, you can expect Lombardi to be getting playing time.
