Chelsea propose deal to Lazio for Italian defender: the latest

Chelsea asks for 3 million euros – plus an additional 15 million euros to make the deal permanent – for the former Torino and Atalanta defender.

While the Biancocelesti squad are on the pitch preparing for the upcoming match against Napoli, the Lazio management – including Igli Tare, Simone Inzaghi, and Claudio Lotito – are always keeping an eye out on the market. With three players already sent on loan (Alessandro Rossi, Cristiano Lombardi, Joseph Minala) and one player’s contract terminated (Brayan Perea), the next operation is hopefully an acquisition.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea defender Davide Zappacosta is the target, as they look set to bring the player back to Italy. However, the negotiation is not an easy one: Chelsea wants 3 million euros for the loan with a redemption obligation set at 15 million euros whilst the salary of the player would be at least 2 million euros per season for four years. To these figures, the operation is almost impossible.
