It was practically finished for the loan transfer of Jordan Lukaku to Newcastle, but the operation is said to have collapsed. No agreement between the parties and the defender remains in Lazio. Reports from Sky Sport suggest Newcastle have withdrawn their interest and there a couple of possible reasons as to why:
It’s rumoured the Belgium international’s salary was the main problem and negotiations are to be abandoned.
However, FIFA agent Vincenzo Morabito suggested on Facebook that the issue was the medical. “I think they might send him back…” Lukaku has noticeably suffered in terms of conditioning and fitness and this could have proved decisive in his, now cancelled, move to the Premier League.
