According to the latest reports from the Corriere dello Sport, Lazio full-back Dusan Basta will not be leaving the club and will be, instead, reinstated into Lazio’s Serie A squad for the rest of the season. Lazio have parted ways with Martin Caceres, who could play at full-back, and therefore are likely to have to hold on to the Serbian for now.
In Europe, Patric will come into the squad to likely replace Caceres and Jordan Lukaku, who failed to complete a loan move to Premier League Newcastle United, will also be included in the team. If Lazio were to receive a late and lucrative offer for Basta, the Biancocelesti, with no time left to secure a replacement, may have to recall Djavan Anderson, currently on loan at Salernitana.
However, it looks like Basta will remain in Biancocelesti for now, despite thoughts he would be leaving during this window. Basta’s contract with Lazio expires in the summer and, therefore, he will almost certainly leave the club then – when Lazio have the time to sort a proper replacement.
