In the winter transfer market, Lazio were linked with a move for Ligue 1 side Strasbourg’s French wing-back Kenny Lala. The right-sided player has been making waves in France this season, almost single-handedly responsible for Strasbourg’s performances and therefore, justly, a target for a number of top clubs. Premier League interest was apparent from Newcastle United, as well as Lazio’s interest from Italy.
Kenny Lala, speaking to beIN Sport, explained why he decided to stay in Ligue 1 with Strasbourg:
“My initial wish was to end the season in Strasbourg, because here I really trust everyone, so I can keep growing quietly. My departure is something we had already talked about before the rumours but, for now, I’m fine here and I do not want to leave.”
