Luis Alberto transferred to Lazio from Liverpool in the summer of 2016. This was after loan spells at Spanish sides Málaga CF and Deportivo de La Coruña over the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons. Although owned by the English club, the now 26-year-old is originally from Spain. Luis Alberto was born in San José del Valle in the region of Cádiz which is bordered by the Spanish provinces of Huelva, Málaga, and lastly, Seville, which happens to be the area in which the Spaniard started his footballing career. To be specific, he started with Sevilla Atlético, before joining the senior team. As Lazio will be taking on Sevilla in the upcoming round of the Europa League, Luis Alberto spoke briefly about the clash and the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium where the second leg will take place. “The stadium is special because of my past and the desire I have had to return to play there. It is true that it is only one game, but for me it is special”. We will see if the player will be match-fit to start or come on to make an appearance at the Stadio Olimpico this Thursday; one thing that is certain is that Lazio’s number 10 will remember these two matches for a lifetime.
