Report: Luis Alberto to miss up to 6 weeks through injury

After the 2-1 loss to Genoa yesterday, bad news keeps coming for Lazio head coach Simone Inzaghi. Spanish midfielder Luis Alberto will miss the next forty days, or roughly six weeks, through a muscle injury which, at this point in time, is considered to be a lesion of either the first or second degree.

According to what has been reported by Di Marzio, Luis Alberto underwent tests at the Paideia clinic today in which the worrying injury was revealed. Alberto will therefore miss the return leg of the Europa League against Sevilla, as well as the first leg of the Biancocelesti’s Coppa Italia semi-final against AC Milan. Not only this but the Spaniard will also be unavailable for the derby della capitale at the start of March, a match in which Lazio would rather be with their playmaker than without.

Luis Alberto joins a long list of injuries within the Lazio camp; the likes of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Wallace, Marco Parolo, Bastos and Luiz Felipe all struggling with new or pre-existing injuries, whilst Ciro Immobile was not considered fit enough to play the full match against Genoa at the weekend.
