The first leg of the Coppa Italia match between Lazio and Milan is right around the corner. Fourth against sixth, this match will be a true test of the Biancocelesti’s skills as they look to defeat an on-form Rossoneri side. To present the clash was Simone Inzaghi at the press conference today.
The team has worked well since our last match against Sevilla… We are coming off a match in which we lost 2-0 in Spain – we were consequently eliminated from the competition. There is still regret for how the match went, especially for how the episodes went. We had 4 days to work together and are ready for tomorrow’s match.
Our defense? We are currently in an emergency but we will try to overcome this. In the training sessions leading up to this match, we tried to change our ways to see who can adapt to certain roles and positions.
We must face these two matches with humility, believing that the outcome will take place over the full two matches (180 minutes). Ciro Immobile and Krzysztof Piatek are two great strikers: Ciro has been here for 3 years and he has, and continues to do, great things; Piatek has established himself very well in Milan. However, tomorrow we are at home – we will have to give our best in front of our home fans. I will be satisfied if I see my Lazio perform well, giving little to the Rossoneri. We know that they are lethal in attack and we will have to remain focused.
