Felipe Caicedo: Lazio rejected offer from China for Ecuadorian

According to what has been reported by Radiosei, Lazio rejected a bid from the Chinese Super League for Ecuadorian striker Felipe Caicedo. The CSL transfer window closed at the end of February and the reports indicate that a late bid came in for Lazio’s vice-Immobile; which the club would have rejected out of hand.

The decision not to sell Caicedo undoubtedly paid off when the Ecuadorian found the net to put Lazio 1-0 up in the Derby della Capitale last weekend; Simone Inzaghi’s side eventually winning 3-0 thanks to goals from Ciro Immobile and Danilo Cataldi.

Caicedo’s Lazio contract expires in 2020 and the club will be looking to decide upon his future only in the upcoming summer. The logistics of Caicedo staying on can also be sweetened; with the forward planning to take a Spanish passport, which would mean that he avoids the restrictions in place on non-EU players in Serie A.
