Lazio: what are the Biancocelesti missing?

Against a ‘small’ or ‘big’ club, why is that Lazio usually fail to win important matches? It seems as whenever an opportuity arises that they must take – that will help them tremendously – they make life difficult for themselves and fail to be take advantage of the situation…

This past Wednesday, the Biancocelesti lost to Spal. This was a chance to close the gap between themselves and Milan and challenge for a top four spot, as the Rossoneri had dropped two points against Udinese. Coming off a terrific 1-0 victory over Inter, many expected Simone Inzaghi’s side to thrash the lower tier side, however, wasted opportunities and a lack of cynicism caused them to fail… so, why is it that Lazio fail to perform in these ‘mist-win’ matches? According to Vittorio Camapanile, a lack of leadership.

Marco Parolo and Lucas Leiva are silent leaders, but they are not good enough to make a difference in a match. Ciro Immobile and Senad Lulic have had their moments, but overall they are not like Beppe Signori, Giorgio Chinaglia, or Paolo Di Canio, who, in tough moments, made a difference.
