Lazio’s failure to close out the game against Sassuolo led to a disappointing draw on the weekend – this is a situation that has happened far too many times so far this season. Despite the initial 1-0 lead, Lazio went into extra time losing 2-1, with it taking a 95th-minute equalizer to salvage an unsatisfactory performance from the Biancocelesti.¬†This is a consistent problem, as Inzaghi’s men have a clear problem closing out games, rarely increasing their advantage when ahead.¬†As reported by Lazio Page, it has only happened with 16 goals in the league, amongst the 44 total goals scored. Atalanta is first in the standings at 30, Napoli (26) and Juventus (24) are the next two, while with Lazio sits in ninth place, just two goals ahead of Milan, who currently sit in 14th. Failures to build on a one-goal advantage have led to Lazio losing games they were clearly in control of, such as Juventus’ visit to the Stadio Olimpico, where the Biancocelesti went from a 1-0 advantage to lose 2-1, conceding the second goal in the dying minutes of the match…
