Following the 1-0 loss, Lazio’s sporting director Igli Tare was questioned by DAZN post-match about the future of manager Simone Inzaghi. His response? One of strong denial to the accusation and possibility.
Inzaghi being sacked at the end of the season? Fantasy Football, he is under contract with Lazio, he is more Laziali than anyone. I don’t think that this is even an option, we don’t think about it at all.
Since being appointed by Claudio Lotito to manage the side on July 8th of 2016, the now 43-year-old Italian manager has been in control for a total of 140 matches in all competitions. Through this tenure, he has a record of 74-27-39, picking up 249 points (of a possible 420) and scoring 273 goals (while conceding 185). Utilizing his preferred 3-5-1-1 or 3-5-2, Inzaghi has a contract until 30.06.2020 and it will be unlikely to see him sacked unless things go very sour at the club. Lazio currently sits in eighth spot with a match in hand on 49 points – six points behind Milan in fourth.
