Following reports that emerged last week, Edoardo ‘Edy’ Reja has been announced as the newest manager of the Albanian national team. This morning, there was a final meeting in Tirana with President Armand Duka to define the details also on the duration of the agreement: the Albanian Federation wanted to offer a two-year deal, but the former manager of Napoli and Lazio was instead inclined to start with an annual contract. Therefore, for Albanian soccer, the ‘Italian manager dynasty’ is set to continue after Gianni De Biasi and Christian Panucci. Reja, who has already been in Tirana in the past for the first meeting with the federation, will experience the management of a national team for the first time. In the upcoming days, his staff will also be defined. His assistant could be Alessandro Calori, who had also been with Reja in Tirana for the first meeting.
