Following Lazio’s 2-0 victory over Udinese midweek, the squad was all back together for the warm-up yesterday in training at the Formello. Afterward, Simone Inzaghi separated the squad into two: a light training session for those who featured in the victory over the Friulans, and technical work for the players who were rested.
The only two players who were absent (in addition to the long-absent Jordan Lukaku and Valon Berisha) were Lucas Leiva (disqualified for the Chievo game) and Danilo Cataldi (who is suffering from calf fatigue). In the group for the entirety of the training session was both Stefan Radu (recovered from his ankle sprain) and Adam Marusic (who has recovered from the muscular discomfort to his adductor). Both could start against Chievo on Saturday, although it will not be decided until tomorrow.
Joaquin Correa could be reintroduced: Il Tucu started the session with his team-mates before separating from the rest of the team to follow a separate regime. He was substituted in Lazio’s game against Milan at the San Siro because of a problem with his ankle; he even missed the match against Udinese for this reason. He will try to return in time for Lazio’s game against Chievo, but time is short and next Wednesday is the rematch against Milan in the Coppa Italia, so Inzaghi must assess the risks of deploying him. In Inzaghi’s preferred 3-5-2 formation, below, the probable starting eleven of the Biancocelesti set to take on Chievo.
Strakosha;
Patric, Acerbi, Radu;
Marusic, Milinkovic, Badelj, Alberto, Lulic;
Caicedo, Immobile.
