Sampdoria vs Lazio: the best and worst of the 2-1 victory

Lazio have won a very important match against Sampdoria, which keeps their hopes alive for the qualification of next year’s UEFA Champions League. A score of 2-1, with goals from Felipe Caicedo in the 3′ and 19′, and Fabio Quagliarella in the 57′, this match was a tale of two halves. The first, dominated by Simone Inzaghi’s side, as they surprised the Blucerchiati at home coming out strong; the second, dominated by Marco Giampaolo’s Samp – it looks like if at the interval, the manager gave his remaining 10 players (Gaston Ramirez was sent off in the 45′) a terrific pep talk to encourage them to play the football they know. The best in the field in Genoa, without a doubt, was certainly Caicedo – the author of a splendid brace. The striker is forgetting the mistakes he continued to make last year. On the contrary, playing poorly in the field against Sampdoria, was Lucas Leiva. The former Liverpool midfielder fought as usual but missed too many balls allowing Sampdoria to close Lazio quickly in the second half. Possibly a cae of fatigue, Vittorio Campanile recaps the match below.
