After scoring in the derby earlier in the year, Danilo Cataldi might have hoped to get more playing time from Simone Inzaghi. Unfortunately for the Lazio midfielder, his minutes have been rather limited. So it was certainly a rare opportunity for the young Roman and lifelong Lazio fan to get the start against Sampdoria this past weekend. He didn’t disappoint. Cataldi had a very strong match making a perfect 39 of 39 passes – the first to do so in 5 years for the biancocelesti. He also contributed significantly to Lazio’s play in the final third providing the most crosses (3/6) and producing the most chances(3). The young star, long touted as the future of the club, will certainly have given Inzaghi much to think about as he prepares the starting formations for the remainder of the season.
