Lazio vs Atalanta: Probable Starting Lineup of the Biancocelesti

Lazio vs Atalanta: Probable Starting Lineup of the Biancocelesti [Designed by @S_K_MOORE]This upcoming Sunday, Atalanta will take on Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico. Matchday 35 of the Serie A TIM, La Dea against the Biancocelesti, fourth against eighth – this match is a must win for Simone Inzaghi’s side if they are to have any chance in securing a top-four spot. The margins are slim and with only four points separating these two sides in the table, a loss could be detrimental – there is the possibility of an absence of European football for next season.

Taking a look at the probable starting eleven, Lazio have a few regular starters absent due to injury and suspension. These are left center-half Stefan Radu, left midfielder Senad Lulic, and central midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. As a result, Inzaghi has had to make some difficult choices in training in replacing them. As you can see pictured above, it looks as if the Italian manager has decided to choose the best lineup possible, considering the available personnel he has. Thomas Strakosha will start in goal; the backline will consist of Luiz Felipe, Francesco Acerbi, and Bastos; the midfield will consist of Romulo on the left and Adam Marusic on the right while Lucas Leiva, Joaquin Correa, and Luis Alberto central; and Felipe Caicedo and Ciro Immobile will start up top in attack.

Another option for the right central midfield position is veteran Marco Parolo, who we have seen convert from a starter to more of a substitute player over recent weeks. This conversion initially occurred as a result of Luis Alberto lack of production; he was slotted into the midfield, where he has finally been able to find his form again. If Inzaghi decides to start the Italian midfielder, it looks as if Correa will start from the bench.

Probability of Correa or Parolo starting in central midfield: 60% to 40%

Probability of Immobile-Caicedo or Immobile-Correa starting in attack: 80% to 20%
