Antonio Lopez, former Lazio midfielder who appeared 78 times between 1975 to 1980, spoke to Lazio Style Radio 89.3 about Inzaghi’s team, the dropped points and his hope for their Champions League Qualification. Here are his words:

“With the victory against Sampdoria, the ambitions for a fourth place finish in the standings are relaunched, I have seen a Lazio team that still gives hope. They will face Atalanta with the aim of winning to continue this Champions League race. Against i doriani in the second half, the Biancocelesti dropped in quality and suffered a lot, but fortunately they brought home the result.”

On Felipe Caicedo and Joaquín Correa:

“Caicedo played a great game, although he felt the lack of Milinkovic-Savic and Luis Alberto. Correa lacks that final leap to be more decisive in the penalty area and score more goals. This season the Ecuadorian is doing his best, he has inserted himself in the squad at his best with concreteness and humility. He’s having a good performance, with a positive and proactive attitude, eight goals are many for his initial “role”. Physically he’s very strong and attacks space in the best possible way. Correa is very good, he has some interesting runs and some great shots, but he has to believe in them more and be more cynical. Immobile is very unlucky, unfortunately nothing turns out well for him.”

On the Champions League:

“To aim for fourth place Lazio lack too many points thrown away to the wind in games that were within reach, too bad really, if we had five more points now we would be relaxed. It’s a different team than last year, the championship was strange and full of problems. Now we’ll try to do it until the end hoping to achieve the final goal, but with the knowledge that this season we’ve made some bad moves, we’ll see how it ends. Lazio with Atalanta if they play face to face, it will be an important challenge to win at all costs, if they do not get the three points then the speech Champions in my opinion would be closed. The biancocelesti remain a great team of quality, however, for them the regrets are great.”
