Lazio announced today that they have reached an agreement with Lucas Leiva to extend his contract to 2022. The 32-year-old Brazilian joined Lazio in 2017 for £5m after spending ten years at Liverpool, and he has been an important starting member of the squad ever since, making 83 appearances over the last two seasons.
Leiva spoke to Correrie dello Sport on his decision, here are his words:
“The renewal of the contract is an easy choice, I want to help the club grow. I dream of playing again in the Champions League, in Rome I could live forever. Milinkovic-Savic will be one of the strongest, and the surprise player for me is Cataldi.”
