After sustaining a  knee and ankle sprain at San Siro against Milan (in the Coppa Italia semifinals return leg), Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has set a goal to be available for the Coppa Italia final against Atalanta on May 15th. It is difficult to determine whether from the bench or from the start but as reported by Radiosei, the Serbian has started working out in the pool with physiotherapists. As a result, in a week’s time, he could be back to training on the pitch with his teammates. These are the first tests that will be important for the final part of his recovery. If the answer is positive, Milinkovic-Savic could also appear against Cagliari for a few minutes in two weeks. However, it remains a race against time. His ankle is particularly worrying, as it is still swollen – such injuries require about twenty days to return to a natural state. In either case, Simone Inzaghi and Lazio will be hoping that the player is able to recover as quickly as possible. With four matches (plus the Coppa Italia final) remaining, they need all of their stars at full health.
