Lazio was smitten in his first year. After Stefan De Vrij’s farewell in the summer, it didn’t take much for Francesco Acerbi to convince fans and experts on his qualities. A constant presence, a record of attendance interrupted only by the unjust expulsion against Napoli, and Inzaghi’s unconditional trust. The biancoceleste defender talked to ‘I Signori del Calcio’ aired on Sky Sport. This is a preview: “Rome was Rome, a beautiful city. Then Lazio calls you, an important club with exceptional fans. I couldn’t say no, I wanted a change. Mr. Inzaghi is the one who really wanted me, I promised him to come after the first call and there I was. I have a great responsibility to replace de Vrij. When you arrive in a new club and you know you have given everything after the illness, you know that you will give everything on and off the field because you have a goal but it was difficult to go. Then of course it is also your desire”.
On the values: “My strength has always been to stay with my feet on the ground, to be humble and to work hard. When I stop playing I would like to be remembered as a man, as a person. This is what matters most for me. Because when the player disappears, the man remains”.
