De Biasi: “Lazio is missing the contribution from their stars”

Last year’s brilliant Lazio had only been seen in flashes this season: the defeat suffered against Atalanta this past weekend has ended any dreams of UEFA Champions League football – a dream that has been the objective and goal of the club for the past two years. A big factor in this failure, according to Gianni De Biasi, is the below average performance of those who, only 365 days ago, carried their teammates towards important results and great victories. Below, the 62-year-old Italian – who formerly managed Torino, Levante, Udinese, Deportivo Alaves, and Albania (to name a few) – spoke about Lazio.

“Lazio lost to a great Atalanta, there is no doubt about this. But the main reason for these bad results is the lack of contribution from some of their players like Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Ciro Immobile; last year they were excellent. In addition, summer purchases. Except for Francesco Acerbi and Joaquin Correa, the signees have not proved functional to the Biancocelesti project”.
