Lazio are keeping an eye on Dusseldorf central defender Kaan Ayhan. A lack of depth in the defence has led Lazio to explore new players to bring to Rome, including Davide Biraschi of Genoa and now Kaan Ayhan. The 24-year-old defender came through the youth system at Schalke 04, before moving to Fortuna Düsseldorf in 2016. Since then, he has made 84 appearances for the Bundesliga club, with his contract expiring in 2021.
The release clause in his contract is €4m, but he has a special agreement with the German side: in the event of an offer higher than that of the clause, 50% of the surplus would end up going to the player himself, according to La Gazzetta.
