Lazio vs Bologna: Match Preview and Predicted Line-ups

Lazio vs Bologna

As the Serie A season draws to a close, with just two games left for Simone Inzaghi’s Lazio to play, it looks as though the Biancocelesti season is already over. With the midweek Coppa Italia victory over Atalanta, Lazio qualified for next season’s UEFA Europa League and, therefore, the final games of this season are merely for consolation. Lazio vs Bologna can, however, see the away side guarantee themselves safety from relegation, while a loss keeps them mathematically in danger.

Lazio come into Lazio vs Bologna with 4 wins from their last 5 games in all competitions; including that impressive Coppa final on Wednesday which the side defeated Atalanta 2-0 within. Lazio’s last two home league games, however, against Atalanta and Chievo, have both been lost, 3-1 and 2-1 respectively.

Bologna, meanwhile, have seen a turnaround in fortunes since the appointment of former Lazio player Sinisa Mihajlovic as head coach. The team have 7 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats in their last ten games and have seen strong results against the likes of Fiorentina, Torino and Sampdoria; whilst losing just 2-1 away to AC Milan.

Lazio look likely to have Guido Guerrieri make his Serie A debut in goal for the club, with Lucas Leiva and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic both doubtful for the clash – Milan Badelj and Marco Parolo expected to fill their spots in the starting 11.

Lazio vs Bologna – Predicted Line-ups

Lazio (3-5-2): Guerrieri; Luiz Felipe, Acerbi, Bastos; Romulo, Parolo, Badelj, Luis Alberto, Lulic; Correa, Immobile

Bologna (4-2-3-1): Skorupski; Mbaye, Danilo, Lyanco, Dijks; Dzemaili, Pulgar, Orsolini, Soriano, Sansone; Palacio

Lazio vs Bologna – Prediction

Bologna have been in good form as of late but the Biancocelesti will seek to finish these last two games in as strong a manner as possible. The victory over Atalanta during the week will give the lads confidence and Mihajlovic’s side should drop points when they travel to Rome on Monday evening.
