Igli Tare Makes Contact with Chelsea About Ruben Loftus-Cheek

According to what has been exclusively collected by Italian news source La Lazio Siamo Noi, Igli Tare is said to have made contact with Chelsea surrounding the future of Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Although the economic details for the transfer were not released, they report that the player has already visited the Formello sports center in Rome; the excellent relationship with Stellar Football, the player’s agency, is said to be the reason why negotiations progressed.

The 23-year-old, coming off a wonderful season with the London club, is a profile that Le Aquile’s Sporting Director is said to have followed for quite some time. An England international, the player is a classic ‘box-to-box’ midfielder who is physically strong with good technical ability – a player of similar qualities to the Biancocelesti’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The reasoning for Tare’s inquiry for bringing Ruben to Rome is likely linked to the Serbian’s potential departure. However, the rupture of his Achilles tendon – in the friendly match against Major League Soccer side New England Revolution – in Boston last week is said to have compromised this possible negotiation.

Maurizio Sarri, manager of Chelsea, has confirmed that Loftus-Cheek will be out for at least six months following surgery on Thursday night. This means that he will miss an international call-up, in addition to the UEFA Europa League final against Arsenal, and part of the first half of the 2019/20 season.

A contract with the Blues that expires in 2021, although his market valuation is said to exceed €20 million and an injury has occurred, he remains a name to be taken into consideration for the future.
