In this morning’s edition of Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, reports stated that former club captain Stefano Mauri could be returning to Lazio to help assist Igli Tare and Peruzzi in handling off-the-pitch affairs. However, Mauri spoke to Radiosei in which he denies any strain of truth to these rumours:
“All the news releases are completely unfounded, I went to Formello on Thursday to say hello to the boys as I often do, almost every 2 months. I spoke with Inzaghi and Lotito was also present, but we did not discuss a future together. I categorically deny it – all the news about my role as a ds helper for Tare. If in the future there should be a call, I will evaluate it, but today there is absolutely nothing.”
