Sport Mediaset: “Milan have chose Simone Inzaghi”

Following Leonardo and Gennaro Gattuso’s departure from Milan, as reported by Sport Mediaset, the Rossoneri are said to have come to a decision surrounding their future manager. This is said to be Simone Inzaghi, Lazio’s 43-year-old technician who has been in charge of the Biancocelesti for the past three seasons.

Paolo Maldini, who is taking time to accept the offered role of becoming the club’s Technical Director, indicated that the Piacenza born individual is the profile to pursue – one who will best lead the club to success. This news comes to light in midst of links to the ‘Inzaghi to Juventus’ rumors, which seems to be a real possibility if Maurizio Sarri – the number one target for the Bianconeri – does not join this summer.

In any case, Lazio still remains a big possibility for the manager: Claudio Lotito – who wants a decision as soon as possible – is trying his best to satisfy the needs of the manager but he can only offer so much; it will be hard to compete with Milan and Juventus on a financial level.

Sport Mediaset state that the Rossoneri have offered Inzaghi 2.5 million euros per year to manage the club, a substantial increase in what he is currently making with Le Aquile. However, the club wants a decision by no later than the end of next week and with a President like Claudio Lotito who is unwilling to let him go easily, this seems like a difficult task.

Inzaghi still has another year left on his contract, so therefore, it will be Lazio who will have to release him if the coach accepts the offer from Milan. If the Rossoneri’s attempt at signing Inzaghi fails, Sampdoria’s Marco Giampaolo is said to be the alternative – their ‘Plan B.’
