Jony – Mundo Deportivo

According to what has been revealed by LaLazioSiamoNoi this evening, Lazio are just a step away from signing Malaga winger Jonathan ‘Jony’ Rodriguez; who spent the past season on loan with La Liga outfit Deportivo Alaves. The reports suggest that the signing was made partly in line with a recommendation from Luis Alberto’s agency, with Jony visiting Rome in the past week as Igli Tare has looked to get a deal wrapped up.

LaLazioSiamoNoi suggest that the fee will be between 5 and 6 million euros; with the player earning 1.5 million euros each year for the next four years. The 27-year-old Spanish winger will add depth to the Lazio side; allowing Simone Inzaghi to possibly switch to a more offensive formation with four defenders rather than three defenders, deploying the likes of Jony and Joaquin Correa on the wings.

Jony is fast and can put a great final ball into the box with his left foot. He can quickly shift the direction of play and would be an important squad player if Tare and co. can get the deal wrapped up.

All steam ahead as Lazio look to get this one wrapped up in the coming days.
