A major contributing factor on Lazio’s failed top four aspirations the past two seasons has been their inconsistency in defense. Lazio have now turned their attention to Braga’s Bruno Viana to shore up their backline. The Brazilian central defender, who has been with Braga since his one-year stint in Greece with Olympiacos in 2016/17, made 32 Liga Nos appearances last season and is comfortable playing in either a three-man or four-man backline. His durability and versatility are just two selling points as the other is his relatively low valuation of under €10 million which is a bargain in today’s market. Additionally, the 24-year-old is represented by Portuguese super agent is Jorge Mendes who is familiar with Lazio as he also represents Wallace. If Lazio can sign Bruno Viana it would represent a huge coup and would surely improve the squad helping to propel them into Serie A’s top four next season.
