According to what has been reported by Radiosei, Thomas Strakosha and Silvio Proto are set to remain as Lazio’s first and second choice goalkeepers for the 2019/20 Serie A season. The reports suggest that Porto’s performances at the end of the season, after Strakosha missed out due to an inflamed achilles tendon, have impressed the Biancocelesti management and persuaded them to keep the Belgian on for another year as the vice-Strakosha.
The third goalkeeper position is a bit more contested, however, with Adamonis returning from his loan spell with Casrtana whilst the Biancocelesti are evaluating loan options for Guido Guerrieri, who served as Lazio’s third keeper last season.
This all but puts an end to speculation that Gianluigi Buffon could join Lazio on a free transfer; with it now looking likely that a move to either Parma or Juventus is on the cards for the experienced Italian shot-stopper.
