Danilo Cataldi’s career at Lazio has been the very definition of dichotomous. Cataldi famously aggravated Lazio fans when, on a loan spell with Genoa, he celebrated a goal from former Lazio man Goran Pandev against his parent club. The ultras did not take too kindly to this and told Cataldi that he would not be welcomed back.
However, years have passed since the incident and Cataldi has proven to be one of the proudest players to display the Lazio crest on his chest. The Italian midfielder appears to eat, live and breathe Lazio and had a strong season in 2018/19, despite only having a bit part role to play. Cataldi scored a great goal to put the final nail into the Romanista coffin during the Derby della Capitale and he has proved to be an important part of the squad.
According to what has been reported by LaLazioSiamoNoi, these next couple of days will be decisive in his future – where the Italian weighs up the prospect of staying and renewing with Lazio against not renewing and seeking a move elsewhere. The Italian website reports that if Danilo Cataldi is not interested in renewing his deal, Lazio will strive to sell him outright this summer.
