Despite the rumours floating around in the past week, Igli Tare is set to remain at Lazio. Reports have suggested that the Albanian was approached by Milan but, according to Sky Sports, he has turned down the Rossoneri offer to stay in Rome.
In fact, Tare will not even be signing a new contract with an increased wage, as was initially being reported by the Italian press.
Milan must now keep up their hunt for a sporting director after Tare’s rejection. The Rossoneri had also attempted to sign Lazio head coach Simone Inzaghi but he signed a new deal with the Biancocelesti and Milan therefore have faced a double rejection from two of the most influential figures behind the scenes at Lazio.
Now, Igli Tare and the rest of the Lazio management can focus on the summer window; as they look to make Lazio domestically competitive once again.
