Malaga performance decisive for Jony future

After it having emerged that a transfer was just a step away, the Jony to Lazio track has cooled in recent days. The winger, contracted to La Liga 2 side Malaga, was strongly linked with a move to Rome but Lazio, as per Radiosei, have no intention of spending more than 5-6 million euros on the Spaniard.

However, Jony has a clause in his contract that states that if Malaga fail to get promoted to La Liga, the winger can choose to move on loan to any La Liga side or any club in the top flight of their division. This would mean that, theoretically, Jony could free himself from Malaga to join Lazio on loan for a season and, with his contract expiring next summer, would allow the Biancocelesti to sign him permanently if he performs well.

Malaga have the first leg of their play-off semi final against Deportivo La Coruna tomorrow evening; a match that the Lazio management will be extremely interested in as it could have major implications on the player rumoured to be the first signing of the summer.
