According to what has been reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, Lazio have identified the profile of 19-year-old Mexican winger Diego Lainez as a potential addition this summer. In Mexico, Lainez is likened to Hirving Lozano and could be an exciting addition to the Lazio squad.
Lainez currently plays for Real Betis, a club that Lazio are still in debt to after the signing of Riza Durmisi last season. Lazio’s plan, as per Il Messaggero, is to pay off the remaining debt and instalments from the Durmisi deal and then offer Betis a fee spread across two instalments of a total of around €20m. The longer Lazio leave it, however, the more the price is likely to rise and, therefore, the less likely a deal is to come to fruition.
After extending his stay at Lazio, Igli Tare is working hard on the market and Laienz is a dream who many Laziale would love to see become a reality.
