Last summer, a lot of attention was brought to a rumour linking Lazio’s Ecuadorian forward Felipe Caicedo with a move English side Leeds United. However, in reality, this was a mistranslation of an opinion piece suggesting that Leeds should pursue a move for Caicedo; not that they actually were. Here we are, one year later, with the same issue once again – this time involving Ciro Immobile.
This morning, English site HITC Sport, who specialise in both rumours and features, ran a piece entitled ‘West Ham should consider a move for Lazio forward Ciro Immobile’. This was an opinion piece about why the Premier League side should pursue a move for Immobile. However, LaLazioSiamoNoi picked it up and have run the piece as an actual report.
This is once again an example of how mistranslation is dangerous and can lead to false reports being covered by a number of websites. Therefore, to reiterate, there is no interest in Lazio forward Ciro Immobile by West Ham United.
