Joaquin Correa: Milan’s impossible dream for the attack

Last summer it was Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic who, at one point, were considered to be just a step away from signing for AC Milan. However, nothing came of these rumours. Then, this summer, Milan were supposedly interested in Simone Inzaghi and made an offer to Lazio sporting director Igli Tare but, once again, failed in their pursuit. Now, the Rossoneri have not given up and are ready to try an even more ambitious assault on the Lazio attack: Joaquin Correa.

Reports earlier this week suggested that Lazio rejected a bid of between 40m and 60m from Atletico Madrid for the Argentine forward and, therefore, it would appear that Radio Rossonera‘s suggestion of Milan interest in the Argentine is even more farfetched than the past pursuits of the club in Rome.

Milan would likely have to cough up 50m+ for the forward’s signature and Lazio don’t appear to be in any hurry or desire to sell the player. Even the insertion of a counterpart, such as Italian forward Patrick Cutrone, would not really help sweeten the deal as Inzaghi, Tare and Lotito all view Correa as vital to the club’s future development.
