Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Signori can be considered the best striker in Lazio history, after Silvio Piola. The former number eleven, who spent six seasons with Le Aquile from 1992/93-1998/99, scored 126 goals in 195 appearances for the Biancocelesti – this is the second-most in the club’s history. In addition, he ranks second overall behind Piola (once again) for the most Serie A goals scored for the club (107) and Bruno Giordano for the most goals scored in the Domestic Italian Cups (17). Despite not winning anything with the club, he was a reckoning force in attack who led the lines in this period under managers Dino Zoff and Zdeněk Zeman. This was outlined by his three Capocannonieri awards in 1992/93 (26 goals in 32 matches), 1993/94 (23 goals in 24 matches), and 1995/96 (24 goals in 31 matches) respectively. Below, Vittorio Campanile provides the full background on the Italian left-footed striker.
