Linked with a move to Lazio since March of this past year, Mohamed Fares is one who has been spoken of highly this summer transfer window. With the likes of Sassuolo and Torino in the Serie A further expressing interest to sign the player, many thought that the 23-year-old Algerian international would definitely be moving on ahead of the 2019/20 campaign. However, this does not seem to be the case; Spal look are looking to keep hold of the left wing-back for at least another season.

Speaking to Sportitalia today, Gli Estensi’s Sporting Director – Davide Vagnati – blocked all potential moves this summer stating that Fares is “unsellable”. The player is said to be a fundamental component of Leonardo Semplici’s starting XI and with Manuel Lazzari looking closer and closer to Lazio, he is not prepared to lose him as well.
