Salernitana attempting to convince Lombardi to join club

Cristiano Lombardi has returned to Rome after a season on loan with Venezia in the Serie B, however, he will not be remaining for long. Initially a two-year loan, as a result of Venezia’s relegation to the Serie C, he was sent back to Lazio in a unanimous decision between both clubs (and the player) to dissolve the deal.

Not a part of Simone Inzaghi’s plans for next season, the 1995 born player is now on the look for a new destination. However, this time he is hoping for a chance to play in the Serie A. To date, there have been some inquiries, but no concrete offer has arisen. For this reason, the Biancocelesti are pushing for the player to sign with Salernitana. The Granata’s Sporting Director Angelo Fabiani and club President Claudio Lotito are trying to convince the former Primavera player to accept this destination, assuring him a central role in the technical project of Gian Piero Ventura.

As reported by several news outlets, Lombardi will take a few days to reflect upon this offer: the solution could be that of a loan with the right of redemption in favor of Salernitana, with Lazio including a buy-back option.
