Inter’s Milan Škriniar, Fiorentina’s Dávid Hancko, Brescia’s Nikolas Špalek, and now Denis Vavro. The amount of Slovakian footballers in Italy is beginning to increase, with all four of the aforementioned players sharing a past at MŠK Žilina. Speaking to futbal.pravda.sk, Adrian Gul’a – the former coach of the players – admitted the following about Lazio’s new signing.
“It’s great to see that one of your students has arrived at one of the top leagues in the world. Denis Vavro is young and therefore more emotional. I know him well and I also know his family very well. He’s a big boy, very strong and smart, I’m glad he went to Lazio, one of the most important clubs in the Serie A. Denis likes big challenges, I would say that it was the right call for Lazio, who paid a record amount for him. The Biancocelesti executives know why.”
