Stefano Mauri acquitted from betting allegations
The trial, born in 2011 in Cremona, on the Italian football-bets in the Italian championships is progressively deflating. 31 suspects had been involved, accused of conspiracy.
Yesterday, the Court of Bologna declared the accusation extinct due to the period of limitation. This is for 26 suspects out of 31. Among the acquitted is also the former biancoceleste player Stefano Mauri. Besides him, there are Sergio Pellissier, Stefano Bettarini, Luigi Sartor, Kewullay Conteh, Mauro Bressan, Roberto Goretti, Alex Pederzoli and Francesco Ruopolo.
The defendants, including Mauri, will no longer have a pending charge. The position of Beppe Signori is still in the balance, being examined by the Bolognese judges.
