Lazio 5-2 Triestina: Post-Match Review

Lazio’s third preseason match ahead of the 2019/20 campaign was against Serie C side Triestina. A 5-2 victory – provided by Simone Inzaghi’s side – Felipe Caicedo grabbed a brace, Joaquin Correa scored a penalty, and Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic each scored a single goal. On a positive note, it was good to see the Biancocelesti putting their width to use; three of their five goals were scored from crosses. This is something that needed to be improved upon and the acquisitions of Manuel Lazzari and Jony were a big help in this regard. On the contrary, both lineups put out in the first and second half looked shaky defensively off of crosses into their own 18-yard box. Both of the Alabardati’s goals were scored in this aspect. It was interesting to note that Wallace was not included in the match. It is possible that he is being left out as his future is sorted out…

In the first half, the team lined up as-is:

Guerrieri;

Vavro, Acerbi, Radu;

Lazzari, Milinkovic-Savic, Cataldi, Luis Alberto, Lulic;

Correa, Immobile.

In the second half, the team lined up as-is:

Guerrieri;

Vavro, Acerbi, Patric;

Lazzari, Parolo, Badelj, Andre Anderson, Jony;

Adekanye, Caicedo.
