Malaga requesting €12 million for Jony

Jony to Lazio is a transfer that has not yet been made official by S.S.Lazio, despite the Spaniard playing and training with the team at Auronzo di Cadore. Although he has even taken his medicals with the Biancocelesti, it may be a while before it becomes real. In Spain, Malaga’s president is not 100% convinced that Jony has complied with his contract. The Andalusian club feel he’s only to leave on free transfer with the stipulation of relegation that would only apply to La Liga. According to Malaga Deporte:

“President Al Thani claims that the departure of the player was a unilateral decision. So, the club has to pay his release clause. €12 million is the amount if he wants to sign for Lazio or for any other team. In addition, Al Thani maintains that Malaga’s lawyers are convinced that the club’s position is right, which is why they will not give up fighting for their rights.”

Jony’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2020, but it is expected that Lazio will take him on loan for a year before officially acquiring him for free next summer. Currently, Lazio remains confident and convinced that they acted accordingly and that a deal will be completed before the start of the season.
