The preseason training at Auronzo di Cadore is proceeding at full speed for Lazio. Today, before their fourth friendly this summer – which will be against Serie B side Virtus Entella – Francesco Acerbi was interviewed by Sky Sport, analyzing last season and reiterating the objectives for the 2019/20 season.
“Last season, that extra spark was missing to try to make the UEFA Champions League. It doesn’t have to be an obsession for us, but a great goal that we must have inside. Also, we must have a bit more presumption but also great humility.
How would I convince Milinkovic-Savic to stay at Lazio? I would promise him the UEFA Champions League, whether through the league or UEFA Europa League. He is a strong player who has shown his quaility time and time again, and is liked by so many. The ambition of each of us is to improve and if he has much more ‘noble’ clubs chasing him, it is only just that he should leave. However, it would be only normal that if he remained, it would give us great pleasure because he is really one surprising and positive element.”
