Lazio 5-0 Virtus Entella: Post-Match Review

Lazio’s fourth preseason match ahead of the 2019/20 campaign was against Serie B side Virtus Entella. A 5-0 victory – provided by Simone Inzaghi’s side – Joaquin Correa and Patric each grabbed a brace, while Luis Alberto scored a right-footed strike into the top corner of the net. It was all positive from the team today, both in the first and second half.

Correa looked a menace, continuing to lead the lines this preseason for the Biancocelesti.

Luis Alberto looked like his old self; he was smart on the ball making quick and key decisions, in addition to linking up well with Ciro Immobile and Correa up top in attack.

Denis Vavro looks to have settled in already in Rome alongside Francesco Acerbi in the back-line; today, we saw his capabilities at pinging long balls in the build up to the fourth goal in the match, in addition to being solid defensively, making a goal line clearance.

Patric is definitely suited for the right flank. However, if needed, we have seen that he can also be used as a right center-back if needed.

As a whole, the Biancocelesti continued to put their width to use. This is something that needed to be improved upon and the acquisitions of Manuel Lazzari and Jony were a big help in this regard; look for many goals to come off crosses this upcoming season.

In the first half, the team lined up as-is:

Guerrieri;

Luiz Felipe, Acerbi, Radu;

Lazzari, Parolo, Badelj, Luis Alberto, Jony;

Correa, Immobile.

In the second half, the team lined up as-is:

Guerrieri;

Vavro, Acerbi, Wallace;

Patric, Milinkovic-Savic, Cataldi, Luis Alberto, Lulic;

Correa, Immobile.

In the second half, we also saw the likes of Bobby Adekanye and Andre Anderson be substituted into the match in the 61′ to replace Immobile and Correa; Jorge Silva also came on in the 72′ to replace Francesco Acerbi.
