After strengthening various other areas of the team and, as it looks at the moment, having kept hold of some key cogs in the Lazio machine, the Biancocelesti are still on the market looking for a signing or two to make to complete the summer. Il Messaggero continue to link the club to former Juventus and Spurs forward Fernando Llorente.
Llorente is a traditional target man and with additions on the wings in the form of Jony and Manuel Lazzari, Lazio are now better equipped to utilise crossing as a major part of the team’s strategy. Llorente would be an ideal low-cost option, if the club are able to convince him to join.
However, there are also reports that suggest that Felipe Caicedo will be handed a contract renewal, something which could cast some doubt over Llorente’s potential move to Lazio; as it is rather unlikely that the club would have three strikers at the same time who all are demanding game-time, especially if Simone Inzaghi continues to utilise Joaquin Correa as a second-striker.
