Lazio working on Felipe Caicedo contract extension
Felipe Caicedo is looking more and more likely to be continuing his adventure with Lazio. The future of the Ecuadorian striker, who has a contract expiring in 2020, was in doubt at the start of this summer. Being 31 years of age and one of the most paid players on the team, the Biancocelesti were said to be trying to get him to move on to China or the United Arab Emirates. However, concrete offers did not arrive from the rich eastern lands. Then, out of no where, the former Espanyol man was enquired about by Argentine side Boca Juniors. However, once again, this did not work out despite an offer being made – the player declined the invitation to join the club as his wife, Maria Garcia, does not want to leave Rome. Therefore, Simone Inzaghi and the club are said to be ok with him remaining, but he needs to be re-convinced. Caicedo is asking for more playing time and to no longer be a substitute to Ciro Immobile. In the last season, he put up exquisite numbers in the second half of the season when he had more chances, and this is the reason.
